Typing Practice

1. Genki-Online
Go to the Genki-Online self-study page, choose "Lesson 5: Adjective Present Negative" and practice. When you finish, go back to the previous page and practice with "Lesson 5: Adjective Past Affirmative."

 

2. Lesson 5 Grammar Page
When you finish the typing practice, go to the Lesson 5 Grammar page, and practice.

 

3. Essay about your Weekend
When you finish the Lesson 5 Grammar page, open Microsoft Word and practice typing the essay about your weekend in Japanese. Use the essay you wrote last week.

 

4. Invitation message for Thanks-giving weekend
You will write an invitation letter to Fumiko-sensee. The content can be real or you can make it up. The message should include the following.

(1) Fumiko-sensee
(2) Invite her for at least one activity over the thanks-giving weekend (activity, the date, time, and location).
Make the invitation attractive if possible.
(3) Closing greetings and your name.
*(2) and *(3)

NOTE:
*(1) Do not put a comma after the name of the addressee.
*(2) Write your full name on the left side. Place a black dot between the first and last names. To type the dot, hit the slash (/) key on PC.
*(3) Do not put “-san” at the end of your name!!
*(4) Make one line blank between each paragraph. (You do not need to have an indent.)

Double check the message and send it to Fumiko-sensee (matsu021@umn.edu) via e-mail. Set the title as “JPN1011Thanksgiving”. DO NOT send the message in the rich text format.
