BRIDGING SCHOLARSHIP (from Association of Teachers of Japanese)
Description: Up to $4,000 to assist with their living expenses while they study in Japan, and a chance to apply for a supplementary monthly stipend.

MONBUKAGAKUSHO SCHOLARSHIP (Japanese Studies Scholarship)
Description: 1 year of study at a Japanese university with all expenses paid.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and between the ages of 18 and 30. Must be an undergraduate with a strong knowledge of Japanese language.

MONDALE SCHOLARSHIP (from Japan America Society of MN)
Description: $1,000 for Minnesota undergraduate students attending a Minnesota college or university who plan to study and travel in Japan. This scholarship is typically used for travel to or within Japan.
Requirements: Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in a Minnesota college. Must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien.

MORGAN STANLEY JAPAN SCHOLARSHIP
Description: $10,000 scholarship for a year of study in Japan, and chance of one-month internship at Morgan Stanley Japan's Tokyo headquarters.
Requirements: Juniors and seniors at US universities with and interest in economics and international finance who have been accepted for study in Japan.

THE NATIONAL SECURITY EDUCATION PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIP
Description: The maximum award is $8,000 for a summer, $10,000 for a semester, and $20,000 for a full academic year.
Requirements: U.S. citizens matriculated as undergraduates at U.S. colleges or univsersities, who will study abroad.

REITAKU FOUNDATION OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Description: Full-year undergraduate scholarship
Requirements: Must be a full-time regular students. Must have studied Japanese for at least four semesters at the college level. Must be under 25 years old and American citizens.
