FULBRIGHT GRANT
Description: 1 year of graduate study or research in a foreign country.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must be proficient in the language of the country in which you will study. Must have a bachelor's degree by beginning of the award.

MONBUKAGAKUSHO SCHOLARSHIP (Research Scholarship)
Description: Up to 2 years at a Japanese university with all expenses paid. The student will conduct an independent research project under a Japanese professor. There is a 6-month intensive language course for grantees with little or no Japanese experience.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen under 35 years old. Must be a college graduate by the beginning of the award.

LUCE SCHOLARSHIP
Description: 1 year internship in Asia.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen. Must not be older than 29 years old. Must have a bachelor's degree by the beginning of the scholarship. This scholarship is not intended for students whose academic concentration is in any aspect of Asian studies.

SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FELLOWSHIPS IN JAPAN
(from the National Science Foundation)
Description: "Opportunities for research in Universities, national research, institutes, and corporate laboratories in Japan."
Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This award is available for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and senior investigators.
