Field Study Seminar in Chinese Agriculture


 

Description
Explore the agricultural production systems, food processing, and marketing
structures in China. Accompanied by a College of Agricultural, Food, and
Environmental Sciences (COAFES) faculty member.

Curriculum
Spend two to three weeks in China on a combination of excursions, field
trips, and visits with individuals involved with agriculture in China.
Predeparture readings and coursework provide familiarity with Chinese
culture, trip logistics, and the agricultural and food systems. Credit granted
for Agri 3000. Instruction in English by COAFES and Chinese faculty.
Typical credits: 3 for May session.

Estimated Cost
2001—02: $2,700. Cost includes fees, housing, most meals, field trips,
airfare. Tuition, some meals, personal expenses additional.

Eligibility & Application
Open to Freshmen and above. Applications reviewed until December
deadline.
