Study at Fudan University in Shanghai


Description
Gain a deeper understanding of China as it emerges to take a leading role in
the global economy through study of the language, history, politics, and
culture that are shaping the economic development of the nation.

Curriculum
Take Mandarin Chinese at beginning or intermediate levels plus courses in
Chinese history and society, politics, economic development, and
international relations. Weekly field trips supplement the academic program.
Martial arts courses are also offered. Instruction in English and Mandarin
Chinese by Chinese faculty. Typical credits: 15 per semester.

Estimated Cost
2001—02: Reduced cost for University of Minnesota students, $7,500.
Cost includes tuition, fees, housing, meals, field trips. Airfare and personal
expenses additional.

Eligibility & Application
Open to sophomores and above with 2.75 GPA. Applications reviewed
until mid-March deadline for fall, mid-October for spring.
