International Travel Grant for Travel to China

The China Center receives funds from University of Minnesota central administration to support work-related travel of faculty to the mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. Partial travel grants toward international airfare are offered to tenured and tenure-track faculty and equivalent level professional/academic staff with official invitations for research, lecturing, or teaching; applications are also accepted from non-instructional professional staff.

Applications are reviewed by the China Center Advisory Council. Priority is given to individuals who plan to participate in an established exchange or to initiate a new exchange, who have matching support, and who have served as a mentor for Chinese scholars or students. Conference travel is considered for funding when it is combined with lecturing or collaborative research activities. Faculty are encouraged to utilize China Center resources when opportunities exist for establishing contacts and linkages with colleagues in the mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.
