4.  Switch between traditional and simplified characters (简繁字体转换):

     In a Windows Word window, click on “Tools”  -> “Language” -> “Chinese

     translation”.

 

5.  Read Chinese texts online without having to know Chinese (阅读中文网页):

         www.rikai.com       www.popjisyo.com

     1) Select “Chinese to English” from the menu in the upper right corner;

     2) Enter a web-address or paste some text in the box to the left. Traditional Chinese

         web-pages will automatically be converted to the simplified forms;

     3) Press “Go”;

     4) Move the mouse over any Chinese word to see the pronunciation and definition.

 

6. Practice Speaking  Chinese (练习说中文):

    2) On the phone: http://www.1qilai.com    This is a free web site to help people

        practice Chinese. English speakers who are learning Chinese can call in to do

        language exchange with native Chinese speakers. Users only need to have a PC

        microphone and plug it into their computer, go to the website and run the free

        QuickDial green software.

 

7. Podcast Chinese (中文播客): www.ChinesePod.com

 

    ChinesePod is a daily podcast and accompanying website with the purpose of    facilitating the learning of the Mandarin Chinese language. The podcasts average in length from ten to fifteen minutes and are available for free. Other learning resources on the website, such as PDF transcripts of the podcasts and online flashcards, are available with a paid, monthly subscription. There is also a seven day free subscription for users to try out all the premium features. Users are able to interact with the hosts of ChinesePod by posting messages on the website to ask specific questions or request content for future podcasts. As of August 21, 2006, Yahoo! Podcasts lists ChinesePod 4th in their most popular podcasts section     (from wikipedia.org)
